Required Education and Experience:
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* Relevant experience and a PhD or
* Equivalent professional experience


Desired Skills:
*Proven Track Record in over-achieving quarterly and annual quotas of 3 million and higher through direct field sales.
*High ethics, integrity, and personal drive.
*Strong knowledge of Internet and telecommunications concepts and demonstrate the ability to discuss them with intelligence and conviction.
*Formal sales training and understanding of: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training or other metrologies.
*Ideal candidates will bring with them a range of Internet industry-related contacts.
*Strong background in Internet infrastructure and/or enterprise solution software required.

The Major Account Executive will understand the customer's business needs to ensure customer satisfaction and to encourage continued long-term relationship, and help identify opportunities where Akamai services fit their ongoing business strategy.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manages and retains revenue for a territory's install base of accounts in Japan. Runs it like an autonomous business.

* Owns complete end-to-end Sales cycle. Involves Pre-sales, Consulting and Account Management

* Create new demands from new contacts in the large organization. Through the sales activities, building pipeline and selling new products.

* Manages implementation of services and ensures 100% utilization of contracted services (project management, credit requests, invoice reviews, monitor usage, etc.)

* Create and deliver reports that details service usage, summarize professional services delivered, highlight new platform components and identify next steps for the named accounts.

* Generates demand for additional products and services within the install base of customers and grows the existing revenue base.

* Escalate problems issues within install base of customers and named accounts

* Helps uncover new growth opportunities

* Support the sale of professional services engagements.
