Overview

Customer Relationship Engineer -Blockchain (CRE) is a vital role for the success of commercial operation of Block Chain technology.  Akamai is hosting the first real world, large scale block chain platform, which provides transaction capability to financial institutions and payment operators for their consumer financial/ payment services.

CRE is expected to work closely with customer operators/ engineers for technical issues resolution.  Because of the unique nature of Block Chain technology, CRE is expected to correctly record, identify, define the issue through analysis of customer issue report and/or own investigation/ research.  It is also expected to work directly with various technical resources within Akamai including platform engineers and other Akamai Labs experts to resolve technical issues coming out of Akamai platform.

Although technical trouble shooting and resolution is the primary focus for this role, it is also expected to perform technical consultation/ guidance to customer engineers for their expansion of services, technical knowledge sharing and training.


Responsibilities include; 

* Serve as the central point of contact for any technical matters for the Block Chain customer.

* Work closely with customer operators/ engineers for technical issues between customer systems.  Independent research from Akamai side is expected.

* Work closely with other Akamai technical resources for Akamai internal issues.

* Facilitate collaboration among customer engineers and Akamai technical resources for complex issues.

* Attend regular meetings with customer to review issues, discuss potential improvement of operations.

* Technical consultation/ guidance for customer’s usage/ service expansion.

* Training to customer operators/ engineers.

* Minimum travel required.

 

About the Team

It is a newly established team located in Akamai Tokyo office to support Block Chain customers in Japan.  It is under the arm of Akamai Labs which is a technology research and incubation organization for future services of Akamai.

Qualifications

 

Required Skills

* 5 years’ experience in technical support, engineering, IT, project management or consulting

* 1 year prior customer-facing experience.

* Fluent in Japanese and business English

 

Desired Skills

* Good knowledge of how the Internet works (HTTP/HTTPS and DNS).

* Knowledge of common network protocols (TCP/IP, ICMP) and tools.

* Internet technology experience and/or experience with products and processes related to B2B application architectures, operations service models, and application security.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Japanese.

* Demonstrated success in developing client relationships.

* Must be able to work independently as part of a remote team.
