Overview


The Co-op program at Akamai provides current college students the opportunity to work full time for a period of 4 to 6 months within their field of study. Students who accept a Co-op position are given the opportunity to dive deep into projects and responsibilities and gain valuable hands on work experience. Students must be enrolled in a degree program with the intent to return to that program at the conclusion of their Co-op. The typical Co-op cycles run from January to June or July to December.  


In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, program participants will be invited to a variety of formal and informal trainings, interact frequently with company leadership, and attend social events. 


The co-op will work on a variety of custom projects, with the opportunity to contribute across all IT teams. Projects will include working with our FBP to understand IT spend and develop various views on opportunities for savings or effiiciencies. Work directly with the leadership team on actuals and help with forecast for upcoming quarters.


As an IT Financial Analyst Co-op, you will be responsible for:

* Assist in monthly reporting & planning for the office of the CIO including: pipeline and forecasts; exposure; capex; opex; and headcount

* Assist in the development the analysis of the IT performance metrics

* Assist in generating reports and presentations, tracking operational initiatives, and working with support partners of the organization to improve and drive business decisions

* Perform ad-hoc financial analyses/reports and provide analytical support as needed

 


 

Required Skills 

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and returning to the program after completion of the internship
* Minimum 3.0 Grade point average (on 4.0 scale)
* 0-2 years of academic experience in a financial analysis or similar role
* 1+ years academic experience with data modeling
* 1+ years academic experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint,  and various project planning tools JIRA/Confluence, Google SmartSheets
