About the Job

The Sales Operational Analyst will be a member of the Sales Operations team directly supporting the Media & Carrier Sales Operations Organization. The role is based at Akamai’s Cambridge, MA, and will be focusing on reporting and analytics for Sales Operations, specifically bookings: in-depth reporting of product and country performance, Sales & Pre-Sales investment deployment, conversion metrics, as well as, support of annual planning and global reporting, and other ad-hoc as required.
As a member of a growing team, this person will be in the forefront of professionalizing a reporting analytics environment supporting a fast-growing division within the company. He/she will be looked upon to develop superior analyses and value-add support to the organization by bringing creativity and enthusiasm to the job, while drawing upon past experiences.

About the Team

The Media & Carrier Sales Operations team acts as a key business partner to Divisional Sales leadership, owns the framework that operationalizes sales strategy, helps Sales leadership improve their understanding of operating results by managing the operational cadence, and providing timely and accurate business insight and analysis to the management team. The team also manages all budgeting aspects of the organizations they support and provides governance around commercial decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective data management and reporting on key metrics for channel operations. Create reports and analyze data for patterns that indicate problems that need to be addressed or opportunities to investigate.
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for Sales Operations leadership, investigating root causes to help address them.
  • Provide accurate and timely booking reporting of monthly results and key business drivers /metrics.
  • Analyzing area/regional sales performance, monthly forecast, sales outlooks
  • Collaborating with other members of Sales ops team, sales, services, marketing, finance and product teams to help improve the overall performance of the business. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work with prescriptive guidelines, and prioritize time effectively (for themselves, and eventually – the team) to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Work with other functional leaders to centralize reports and analysis



Basic Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree and 2 years of relevant experience
• Systems Proficiency: Saleforce.com, Excel (Macros), PowerPoint, BI/Tableau


Desired Experience

• Strong analytical skills with ability to provide data-backed analysis.

• Hands-on experience with large amounts of data and ability to multi-task.
• Able to understand reporting requirement, envision output, and drive strong quality
• Able to understand business implication of team output – be a Good team player.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter" with the ability to self-motivate in a fast paced, deadline driven, environment.

Ability and Flexibility to Adopt to changes

• Previous experience of Interacting with sales team and sales leaders
• Able to have good communication with people across various teams
