Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will have the opportunity to address global security challenges and make the Internet a safer place, powered by the scale of Akamai's platform and influence.

Shape Internet Security

You will explore cutting-edge technologies, develop machine learning models to predict and mitigate risks, and create security solutions. You'll be
enhancing the security our infrastructure, working on projects that shape the future of internet security.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:

• Building dashboards and reporting data brought by security scanners and data sources.
• Assessing attack surfaces, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, mitigations, and risks using data-driven approaches.
• Collaborating with the cross-functional teams to plan, scope, lead, and create new technical solutions
• Building and experimenting with modeling and scoring algorithms. Development of algorithms and using tools based on machine learning, analytics, and statistical techniques.
• Working with stakeholders to understand business challenges and identify potential AI-driven solutions and Industry use cases.
• Integrating and Deploying: Integrate AI models into existing systems and ensure seamless deployment.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have an excellent foundation in machine learning, statistics, and data analysis, building models to solve complex problems.
• Be skilled in Python, R, and familiarity with data science and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Use data gathering and presentation tools to visualize incoming data, eg. Elastic PowerBI, Tableau etc
• Understand key cybersecurity concepts including attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and risk assessment.
• Be proactive and analytical, and able to work independently supporting security team solving data related security issues.
• Have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and methods for processing datasets using SQL, Pandas, NumPy.
• Have exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
