We are looking for a qualified Content manager to join our Global Events Team. The Content & Messaging, Global Event Manager is responsible for the development of the content and curriculum for small- and large-scale Akamai internal/external events, including Akamai’s annual flagship event EdgeWorld. In this role, a successful candidate will work across the global Akamai Marketing, product marketing and Enablement teams to strategize, design, plan, and develop content and messaging for key events.

Content & Messaging, Global Event Manager will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to create an exceptional attendee experience at key global events. Duties will also include sharing content to educate, inspire and train both customers and prospects on Akamai technologies. Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable creative writing skills. A Content & Messaging, Global Event Manager should perform well under deadlines and be detail oriented. Ultimately, they should be able to oversee all marketing event content initiatives to ensure customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience.

As the Content & Messaging, Global Event Manager you will:
  • Plan, manage, and design event content in support of marketing and enablement’s business goals and priorities.
  • Provide event content and messaging development, including:
    • Content Strategy and curriculum design
    • Event messaging for both internal and external communications
    • Speaker selection and management
    • Collaborate with design and writing team to produce high quality content
    • Edit, proofread and improve content
    • Marketing activities required to promote the event.
    • Execution and production of the events run of show
    • Receive customer feedback and generate ideas to improve attendee experience
  • Be a strong and effective ambassador at events, creating impactful experiences for Akamai’s clients and employees.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of events by proposing new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or relevant field
Basics Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant experience in event and/or marketing program management.
  • 3 Years of Project management experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong marketing skills, excellent communications and networking ability.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Experience planning high touch, highly visible events for both internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to address issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions.
  • Flexible with change and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross organizational collaboration
