Hardware Performance Engineer

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent or

* Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD or

* Relevant Professional Experience

Required Skills

* 2+ years of experience in a projects-related role

* 2+ years of experience with Perl, PHP, or Python.

* 2+ years of experience with RDBMS (MySQL and Oracle a plus) and data warehouse including data modeling and SQL query tuning

* 2+ years of hands-on experience with Linux, BSD or any other UNIX based OS.

Desired Skills

* A spirit of investigation

* Basic knowledge in R programming.

* Selecting and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities.

* Knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala.

* Experience with standard web technologies like HTML, Javascript and CSS.

* Exposure to datacenter technologies and infrastructure

* Ability to think out of the box and solve problems creatively

* Comfortable with Linux and hardware systems support in an Internet operations environment.

* The ability to work in an energetic and dynamic environment, with openness to the demands and

rewards of building and maintaining a worldwide network (non 9-5 M-F work may be required).

*  Strong communication and organizational skills – especially with global partners

* Good time and project management skills
