InfoSec & Compliance Advisor

The Control Center team is looking for an experienced, talented and driven security and compliance advisor. This is an opportunity to work with the software foundation of Akamai’sControl Center, our customer facing portal. Our technologies include a web-based microservice platform that supports UI and API access to hundreds of services across all aspects of our business. All of Akamai’s services depend on our software and therefore security and reliability are paramount.

You will collaborate closely with internal Akamai teams who develop products and services for our customers. You will need to understand compliance requirements and interpret them for Akamai systems, guiding teams to build compliant systems, and helping explain those systems to auditors. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, learn how Akamai’s web-scale systems work, and guide the business to securely and efficiently meet our compliance obligations and security needs.

As an InfoSec & Compliance Advisor you will be responsible for:

• Ensure that the Akamai Control Center is compliant to industry standards and ready for audit.

• Understanding the Akamai Control Center and dependant systems, interpreting security requirements and articulating how Akamai meet those requirements.

• Working comfortably in ambiguous or less well defined circumstances to develop clear analysis.

• Working closely with key stakeholders to identify, document, and communicate issues related to security assurance activities.

• Document these issues in sufficient detail to communicate them to others as needed.

• Work with key stakeholders to adjust analysis to ongoing changing business needs and technology landscape.

• Understand security requirements in sufficient detail to predict potential issues.

• Encouraging and building collaboration amongst team members.

• Working with program sponsors and key stakeholders on presentations to executives.• Communicating work status and changes to management with appropriate frequency and detail.

• Tackling multiple, complex analysis projects smoothly.

• Identifying areas for process and tooling improvements.

• Maintaining and iterating on a roadmap of committed work through the current calendar year and beyond.

About the Team

Akamai’s Control Center is Akamai’s face to our users on the Web. It provides a full range of tools and APIs, including analytics, configuration management, web services, training, support, and billing for our customers to manage their accounts.

Required Skills

• 3 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in information security or security compliance analysis

Desired Skills

• Experience with industry compliance and security standards including one or more of the following: PCI DSS, SOC, ISO, FedRAMP, CSA, NIST/DoD frameworks.

• Strong desire to improve information security.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Passion for learning about technology, security, and security compliance.

• Familiarity with the internet and large scale technology companies.

• Knowledge of standard and repeatable software engineering practices.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
