About the Job

This manager-of-people role is a dynamic and high-impact position designed to place you as a key liaison between Akamai Human Resources (HR) and IT’s Corporate Systems team (Business Systems Analysts, Developers, Database Analyst). The successful candidate will be adept at applying skills in project management, business analysis, requirements gathering, functional testing, change management, and training to implement business process changes and application enhancements.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and Human Resources (HR) business processes in one or more of following areas: Compensation & Benefit management, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Performance Management. You should possess strong communication skills, translating business requirements into technical design and solution implementation, and will be familiar with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You should be comfortable playing multiple roles, working independently, and managing a team. 


 

About the Team

The Office of the CIO’s Corporate Systems team is responsible for enhancing the business operations of Akamai’s Finance, Procure to Pay, Supply Chain, Corporate Accounting, and HR business processes, applying technologies to enable scalable, sustainable solutions. The team is a combination of process & business systems analysts, software engineers, and technical support analysts, using an evolving technology stack including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Compensation Cloud, Taleo, SuccessFactors, and custom software solutions. The team resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts and in Bangalore, India. 



Responsibilities: 

* Act as a primary liaison between HR and IT communities to define and plan the deployment of HR solutions 

* Manage the service delivery and career development of team of Business Systems Analysts

* Forecast resource demand across multiple HCM technology enhancements and implementations

* Facilitate cross-functional teams through business process and application initiatives from requirements definition to prototyping, testing, training, and deployment

* Communicate project status and escalate issues to management

* Implement HR and IT processes to ensure data integrity/accuracy

* Identify training opportunities for self and team

* Facilitate end user communications, as needed

* Assist with application and reporting system support and operations

* Execute on other technology directives in support of HR, as needed





Required Education and Experience 
* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Human Resources Management, another related field or its equivalent. 

Required Skills 
* 8+ years of experience supporting an HR organization in the capacity of a Manager of HR Business Applications, HRIS Manager, or similar roles, including implementation of cloud technologies
* 8+ years of experience working with Oracle EBS HR and other HR-supporting applications
 
Desired Skills
* Experience as a manager of people or team lead
* Systems and business process knowledge using one or more of following technologies: Oracle HCM Cloud, Taleo, Cornerstone OnDemand, and SuccessFactors (Performance Management)
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of multiple HR business processes and technologies 
* Ability to manage multiple projects and the efforts of direct reports 
* Intermediate level knowledge of SQL on an Oracle Database environment
* Project management and communication skills
* Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
* Ability to think strategically and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Proven track record delivering complex software solutions
