Basic Qualifications
- The Network Engineer is professional occupation, which requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or 3-5 years experience in similar roles.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on BGP experience with a large service provider organization including experience in one or more of the following areas: configuring route-maps, communities, and/or filters.
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches
- Minimum of 2 years experience in IP network design and routing architectures
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Linux/Unix and related tools
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Ethernet networking technologies in one or more of the following areas: VLANs, VLAN aggregation, 802.1Q, Spanning Tree, LACP, PAgP and/or security concepts
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with protocol analyzers and circuit debugging/test equipment
- Experience with Juniper and other router vendors.
- Understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good understanding and experience with Programming languages such as Python.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to tune capacity and improve performance across platforms.
- Must be an organized self-starter, able to deliver assigned tasks on time, and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
