Platform Operations Engineer

Required Education and Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

* 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or

* Equivalent professional experience

Required Skills:

* 2+ years experience with linux administration and troubleshooting

* 2+ years experience administering operational infrastructure for software products


* 2+ years experience with scripting languages

* 2+ years experience with command-line utilities such as bash, grep, ssh, powershell, etc.

* 2+ years experience with version control systems such as svn, mercurial, git, etc. (we use git)

* 2+ years server-side development experience

* 2+ years experience programming in python, java, etc.

* Minimum of 2 years of experience working with cloud-based architectures


Desired Skills:

* Minimum of 2 years working with distributed databases


* Minimum of 2 years of experience / hands on with enterprise-level SaaS software concepts including services-oriented architecture, high availability, scalability, maintainability, concurrency, and distributed computing


* Minimum of 2 years of experience working with SOAP and/or REST web services


* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

* Experience supporting continuous integration / delivery pipelines including environment reproduction, deployment, resource scaling

* Experience with configuration-management / automation frameworks like Ansible, Terraform, Consul and CI/CD tooling and methodologies

* Experience using JIRA for issue tracking

* Experience with Agile software methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban

* Familiarity with software testing concepts including unit testing, functional testing, regression testing, continuous integration testing, and performance testing
