Principal Software Engineer

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: 

* 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or 

* 8 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or 

* 5 years of relevant experience and a PhD

Required Skills
* 10 years experience with developing and maintaining highly-available Web applications using Java or similar. 
* 10 years experience with relational databases, such as Oracle. 
* 5 years experience in an API-driven ecosystem, focused on REST API development.   
Desired Skills: 
* Experience with Docker or similar container technologies. 
* Experience with distributed systems technologies, such as Apache Mesos and Kubernetes. 
* Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure. 
* Ability to drive a project through the entire software development life cycle, from requirements and design, implementation, unit testing, code reviews to release. 
* Familiarity with common Internet protocols including TLS, TCP, HTTP and DNS. 
* Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
* Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments. 
* Understand the challenges of packaging products and managing dependencies for enterprise software development.
