About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Program Manager to collaborate across a wide variety of initiatives within a highly dynamic and strategic team. This person will be responsible for driving and coordinating worldwide internal programs, projects and analysis for the evolving business strategy in the Global Services & Support organization. Strong communication skills and adaptability is crucial.

 

About the Team

The role will report to the Manager of Technical Program Management in the Global Services & Support Strategic Programs organizations. You’ll need to advocate for the business needs of the Services and Support organization to partner organizations within Akamai as well as facilitate balancing the needs of multiple internal organizations with available program support. You’ll work on across a variety of Service, Support teams and closely tied organizations including Operations, Finance, Engineering, Training and many more. You will benefit from working as part of an experienced global team committed to enabling success in the field, excellent Customer experience and accomplishing the Company strategies.


Responsibilities:

* Collaborate closely with key stakeholders both within the Global Services & Support organization as well as across the business to ensure the systems, processes, and programs we develop are scalable, reliable, and supportable.

* Drive key relationships across cross-functional and cross-organizational environments

* Align all activities with Akamai Global and Theatre centric strategies, using functional and cultural awareness

* Set and manage the expectations of key stakeholders and sponsors

* Perform macro and micro level analysis against such things as program feasibility, success criteria, impact and resources

* Conduct effective program management with diligent planning, scoping, consultation, mediation and communication with a permanent focus on business impact

* Strong organizational skills – you will have a good deal of independence.

Basic Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience

* 2+ years of professional experience in Program or Project Management or equivalent.

 

Desired Qualifications

Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and strategies including the ability to:

 - listen deeply and well, (including to hear what is not being said, as well as what is)

 - articulate complex concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences, and

 - construct the frame and argument that will persuade the audience and elicit the desired response.

* Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, both individually and within a team.

* Knowledge of professional services & support processes and responsibilities

* Proven track record of working cross-functionally

Proven experience of dealing with a varied audience, non-technical and technical, field to c-suite

* Experience and a desire to progress within a global services organization.
* Detail-oriented drive to investigate and dissect information with a strong focus on quality and organization.
* Strong sense of integrity and accountability.
* Experience with Salesforce and Jive preferred.
* Proficient with PowerPoint and Microsoft Office suite.

* Widely recognized professional qualification e.g. PMP, Prince2, ITIL
