Senior Data Protection Engineer

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience as an Engineer including deployment, configuration, management and support of backup solutions (e.g. NetBackup)

• 3+ years experience as an Engineer including deployment, configuration, management and support of storage solutions (e.g. NetApp, Oracle) and storage replication technologies (e.g. Snapmirror, Snapvault, ZFS )

• 3+ years experience with storage components; Cisco MDS Fiber Switches, CIFS/NFS/iSCSI, and Authentication (Kerberos)

• 3+ years experience working with virtual environments, clustering technologies, and database systems

• 3+ years experience in Storage+Server Architecture (Server Configuration, Security, and Networking)

• 3+ years experience with storage management access and monitoring

• 3+ years experience with advanced familiarity with most operating system commands/utilities on Windows and/or Linux

• 2+ years experience designing SAN and NAS storage solutions for large-scale environments

• 2+ years of cloud storage experience

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP,  LACP bonding (various modes) and high availability networking

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills for both storage performance and connectivity issues

• Must have strong analytical skills

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff including executives

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills

Desired Qualifications:

• A 4-year college degree

• Experience working with VMware Virtualization and Oracle Databases as it relates to backup

• Experience working with offsite backup methodologies, including; tape drives, cloud services, information management companies (e.g. Retrievex, Iron Mountain)

• Experience with Cloud Orchestration and Service automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SCCM)

• Experience with Cloud Hosting services (AWS, Azure, GCE, Openstack)

• Programming experience in shell, python, perl

• Experience with documentation and training

• Experience working with geographically dispersed team members and customers

• Good understanding of the ITIL frameworks along with the incident, problem and change management processes and procedures

• Willingness to take initiative and to overcome obstacles to achieve personal, organizational, and company goals

• Passion for pushing the limits of storage technologies and their use in the workplace as a means to accomplish business objectives

• Good analytical skills and Project Management skills
