About the Team:
The Akamai Enterprise Security Architect Team is responsible for driving Security related initiatives across Akamai in a manner that a) Incubates Akamai Security Innovation, b) Expands the Global Akamai security business and c) Contributes to Go-To Market Security capabilities. This global unit empowers and better prepares Akamai to create, sell, deliver, and support the advanced Security solutions demanded by Akamai customers.

About the Job:
Enterprise Security Architects (ESA’s) are Pre-sales technical professionals primarily supporting presales activities, with some involvement on post sales security activities for large accounts. ESA’s help scale Akamai’s global security expertise by establishing good tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP’s) for mitigating security challenges with Akamai solutions. ESA’s participate in training Akamai security subject matter experts around the globe on these good practices in order to drive consistency, scale capability, and grow security acumen in order to better serve customer needs.

As an ESA, you will partner closely with Sales and field service and support personnel in an overlay role to acquire new customers, expand our positions within existing customers, drive consistency security solutions consistency, and grow the Akamai business as it relates to Akamai’s Security portfolio of products and services.

Responsibilities:
● Work closely with direct and channel sales representatives to consult and educate existing and prospective customers on how they can incorporate Akamai Security products and services into their architecture and operations to derive business value.

● Support the technical pre-sales process for field teams and evangelize Akamai Security solutions and services to customers by participating in conference calls, site visits (perhaps 50% travel), presentations, product demonstrations, technical trial evaluations, technical objection handling, onsite troubleshooting, proposals, and any needed customer follow up activities.

● Work closely with Product Management and related subject matter experts to understand and influence Security product roadmaps, providing valuable input from the field/customer perspective.
Basic Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor's Degree
● Overall Experience: Minimum 7 years overall experience in a technical role with a minimum of 5 years in a Security engineering, Incident response or InfoSec operations role.
● 2 yrs of Web Application Security Experience
● 2 yrs of Cloud Security and/or network engineering experience

Desired Qualifications:
● Extensive exposure to security technologies, processes, and concepts.
● Deep experience with fundamental Internet protocols
● Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
● Web application development experience
● Industry security certifications are desirable such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCNP/JNCIE, CISSP, GIAC and CEH.
● Fluent in English
