About the Role

The Senior Field Marketer will have strong field marketing experience with a result-oriented and growth mindset. Based in Akamai’s Tokyo office, the right candidate is required to have a proven, integrated approach to marketing and strong stakeholder collaboration and management skills.


You will own, lead and execute the GTM plan to drive demand, accelerate opportunities and achieve marketing KPIs. This role is responsible for building the marketing and sales pipeline through the planning, execution and management of field marketing programs (ABMs, conferences, partner events, roundtables, digital campaigns, etc) based on the country/local marketing plan. Additionally, you will play a key role in partnering with in-country sales teams and sales leadership to positively impact the marketing and sales pipeline.

* Strategize, define and execute GTM plan and field marketing programs such as ABMs, conferences, partner events, roundtables, digital campaigns etc, targeting at existing and prospect customer opportunities critical for pipeline building and acceleration

* Partner closely with in-country sales team to ensure alignment of local marketing goals and plans with the business priorities of in-country sales teams and sales leadership

* Partner with sales development teams to ensure leads are progressed, qualified and converted

* Track opportunity and collaborate with other marketing (product marketing, industry marketing, marketing operations and others) and cross functional teams locally, regionally and with US headquarters in the development, execution and measurement of field marketing programs

* Accountable for achieving marketing KPI goals, developing forecast and management of the pipeline

* Measure impact of marketing programs through KPI reporting, ROI measurement and program effectiveness

* Plan and manage local marketing budget ensuring compliance with Financial processes

* Oversee third party agencies and performance management 


* A skilled field marketing professional with minimum 8 years of relevant B2B marketing experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business

* Strong experience in defining and executing GTM plans for offline, event and online field marketing programs that drive marketing pipeline

* Experienced in collaborating with in-country sales teams and sales leadership

* Experienced working with remote teams across functions, geographic locations and diverse cultures, driving collaboration and positive outcomes

* Strong collaborative project management and organizational experience and skills with a strong sense of ownership

* Possess data and performance-metrics driven mindset with experience using marketing data and metrics for developing insights to marketing KPIs

* Experienced in budget planning and management

* Skilled in navigating through ambiguous and complex situations with some degree of uncertainty

* Skilled in navigating through a face-paced, high growth and highly matrix organization

* A motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude who thrives in working autonomously

* Highly collaborative and ability to communicate effectively with leadership teams and peers

* Good spoken and written English and Japanese skills
