Partner with the best
In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive best practices in reliability, observability, and automation to ensure top-tier performance and uptime. You'll create tools to automate the deployment, monitoring and management of the platform. You'll work with open-source technologies and Akamai developed tools to maintain the reliability of the computing infrastructure.
As a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Automating deployment workflows with Shell/Python and Saltstack/Argo CD
- Collaborating on the roadmap for critical enterprise features expected from a public managed Kubernetes platform
- Deploying Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Developing monitoring solutions based on Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards.
- Defining reliability requirements and performance metrics for Akamai's cloud computing infrastructure
- Collaborating in CI/CD pipeline ensuring a safe and reliable release cycle.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
- Have professional experience in a Site Reliability, Development, or Systems Engineering role, with large scale distributed systems
- Have hands on experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki or similar
- Have extensive experience with configuration management at scale using Saltstack, Ansible, or Terraform
- Possess deep experience building Kubernetes Platform Clusters with scale and Cloud Native technologies, including a CKA
- Have extensive experience with more than one programing language such as Python, Golang, and Bash
- Be familiar with software development practices and product life cycles through build, test, deploy, and iterative environments.

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $126,100 - $261,900/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
