Required Education and Experience
*12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics or related field or
*8 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
*5 years of relevant experience and a PhD or
Required Skills
*2+ yrs Experience leading a team of engineers or other technical staff
*2+ yrs Experience in supporting business goals and functioning as part of a high-performance cross-discipline team
Desired Skills
* Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and persuasively verbally and in writing to technical and business audiences
* Ability to facilitate conversations and understanding among team members who may have different ideas about solving problems
* Excellent technical aptitude and a desire to learn constantly
* A drive to improve the culture and tone of discourse in difficult and complex problem solving
* Some knowledge of systems thinking and systems analysis techniques such as Systems-Theoretic Accident Modeling and Processes (STAMP)
* Experience authoring applications using several different web-based application frameworks* Experience in at least one of: Haskell, OCaml, F#, ML, Scala, Clojure, Common Lisp, Scheme, Opa, or Erlang
* Experience with applied statistics using R or MATLAB
* Familiarity with security technologies, processes, and concepts such as symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, TLS, Authentication and Authorization, Static Code Analysis\
*Experience in at least two programming languages, including a scripting language, and a functional language. Exposure to a wide range of language types (e.g., scripting, Unix-like, procedural, functional, high-level) is especially helpful.
*Solid understanding of and interest in internet technologies and fundamental protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, and DNS.
