Senior Performance Engineer

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
● BA/BS in engineering, math or related technical field and 5 years of relevant performance engineering experience 

● 3 years of relevant performance engineering experience plus MS/PhD

Required Skills
● 3+ years experience with Linux.
● 2+ years experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Go.

Desired Skills
● MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Math or related field
● Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
● Experience with monitoring and visualization systems and applications for performance
● Experience analyzing and optimizing complex, parallel, large-scale distributed systems
● Experience with principles of software development and design
● Experience with “big data” technologies and database systems, as well as query optimization, instrumentation, and tuning for performance
● Experience identifying, characterizing, and correcting system performance issues

● Experience identifying and driving performance engineering tasks to completion
● Experience with common Internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
● Self-motivated, highly responsible, able to work on multiple projects in parallel with little supervision.
