As a Senior Platform Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and supporting Akamai services on AWS GovCloud and Azure Government
  • Deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on cloud platforms
  • Analyzing and improving the security, stability, speed, and capacity of Akamai's production network
  • Developing and implementing procedures for automating Platform Operations and tasks, streamlining day to day work.
  • Monitoring service health and promptly handling alerts to ensure quick resolution and SLA adherence

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent
  • Have experience in AWS GovCloud and Azure Government
  • Demonstrate experience in Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Charts, Terraform, etc
  • Have experience working with Linux (Ubuntu) and large-scale cloud-based infrastructure
  • Be familiar with Monitoring/Logging/Performance Analystics tools such as VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Prometheus, Logstash, Kibana, or DataDog
  • Have experience with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch cluster setup and maintenance

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $91,600 - $190,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
