The Senior Program Manager will drive the execution of long-term strategy through a combination of strategic planning, program management and change management. The role will: lead the implementation and development of key sustainability initiatives, develop data modeling and provide analysis across a diverse scope of complex business requirements in a highly integrated data environment, and will drive a wide range of strategic programs to take advantage of business opportunities to meet the goals and mission of the global networks team. Additionally the role will require close interaction with the Akamai leadership team from several key organizations across the business to support the messaging of our ongoing programs that are geared to revolutionizing our business. The core responsibilities of the role will include the following:

* Oversee the management, organization and effective delivery of large scale strategic programs that fall into the company sustainability and networks portfolio

* Lead programs that require: contract negotiations, financial management, relationship building, data analytics, in depth business cases  and key performance indicators

* Identify emerging areas of risk and opportunities while managing complex programs to drive impact with all organizational units on responsible practices

* Be a key contributor to meaningful change across the organization through strategic planning that will have a lasting effect internally and externally to the business

* Contribute to the building of the organization’s program management culture by facilitating effective program management that delivers the desired benefits with a focus on time and budgetary goals

 

About the Team

The Networks organization builds and maintains Akamai’s Edge Platform—one of the world’s largest distributed platforms. This platform handles a significant portion of the world’s Internet traffic. Our platform consists of over 220,000+ servers in over 2,000 networks across 140+ countries and handles a significant portion of the world’s web traffic. Within the Networks organization, the PMO Team is responsible for: strategic program management, operative assistance, coordination of programs and required resources, increasing the Networks team effectiveness and efficiency, and organizational coaching.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet the following education and experience requirements:

* 8 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree or

* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or

 

Required Skills

* 6+ years program management experience in an IT or business related function

* 6+ years experience implementing and guiding strategic corporate programs and initiatives

* 5+ years experience in: environmental sustainability, corporate sustainability and / or a  strategic planning environment.

* 5+ years experience in financial analysis, data analysis and business case development

* 3+ years experience with corporate policy and compliance

 

Desired Skills

* Ability to transform ambiguity into clarity

* Track record of being an enthusiastic, creative, resourceful and effective team player as member of a cross functional, global team

* Strong leadership, program management, problem solving, analytical and influencing skills

* Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills

* Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and/or Google (Docs, Sheets and Slides)

* Advanced contract and financial management skills

* Experience leading and influencing internal and external resources to ensure successful outcomes.

* Experience with employee engagement and change management

* Experience with data analysis, reporting and data modeling

* Familiarity with Business Intelligence software like Tableau, Oracle ABI, Logi, etc.

* Familiarity with Renewable Energy organizations (BSR FOIP, REBA, Green Grid, GreenBiz, Green Electronics Council)

* Familiarity with renewable energy procurement

* Strong passion for corporate responsibility

* Ability to travel and attend industry conferences
