Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: 

* 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or 

* 3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or 

* Relevant experience and a PhD  

Required Skills

* 3+ years of Ruby on Rails experience including unit testing/test driven development (Rails 4.x or 5.x) 
* 3+ years general programming (Ruby, Python, Javascript, Perl, Java, C/C++, etc)  

* 3+ years working with Linux systems
* 3+ years Unix Shell scripting 
 

Desired Qualifications

* Rails/Webapp Administration (Apache/Nginx, Puma/Passenger/Thin) 
* Experience with developing and supporting SaaS applications  

* Linux system administration
* Understanding of networking protocols 
* Public sector experience 
* Agile project management tools (JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, etc.)
* Git/Bitbucket or an equivalent source control system experience  
* Postgresql or equivalent database experience  
* Understanding of SSO/SAML fundamentals 
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
* Eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance
