Akamai’s Security Compliance team in Information Security is looking for a creative, detail-oriented problem-solver to help deliver US Government cloud compliance programs to demonstrate the security of Akamai’s distributed network and products. You will work with members of the Security Compliance team along with our stakeholders in the Akamai business units to support ongoing assessment, authorizations, and continuous monitoring of Akamai products. Key Responsibilities

Senior Compliance Analysts are key contributors to Akamai’s successful security assessments. As a Senior Compliance Analyst within Security Compliance, you will be responsible for leading analysis activities in support of interpreting compliance standards and telling the Akamai compliance story. 

Some more specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Creating analysis to support compliance efforts, including detailed written reports, as well as presentations, and other forms of communication.
  • Clearly communicate about Akamai to US Government Civilian and Department of Defense stakeholders, 3PAO members in both virtual and face to face meetings.
  • Investigating potential issues and develop solutions by working collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced Compliance Analysts and other members of Akamai.
  • Working independently and comfortably in ambiguous or less well defined circumstances to develop clear analysis.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders to identify, document, and communicate issues related to compliance activities.
  1. Document these issues in sufficient detail to communicate it to others as needed.
  1. Work with key stakeholders to adjust analysis to ongoing changing business needs and technology landscape.
  1. Understand compliance programs in sufficient detail to predict potential issues with little direct guidance from Security Compliance management.
  • Encouraging and building collaboration among individuals on your teams.
  • Guiding others on how to interact effectively with those in positions of authority.
  • Working with compliance program sponsors and key stakeholders on presentations to executives.
  • Working effectively and independently in collaboration across departments at Akamai.
  • Tackling multiple, complex analysis projects smoothly.
  • Identifying areas for process and tooling improvements.

About the Team

Security Compliance within the Information Security organization seeks to demonstrate to Akamai Customers, and interested parties, Akamai’s security posture. We take great pride in providing our customers with the necessary confidence to realize the benefits of Akamai solutions. Security Compliance works with internal and external stakeholders to undertake compliance programs associated with external security standards such as FedRAMP, PCI, SOC2, etc.. The staff works with Third Party Assessment Organizations (3PAO), consultants and standards bodies to communicate Akamai’s processes and procedures related to the secure operation of its network and products as defined by Akamai business units. Staff members work closely with our colleagues across Akamai to help them understand compliance, the Akamai compliance story and how they can contribute to Akamai’s standards compliance. We take a broad view and have an opportunity to work with the best of the best across Akamai. Within Information Security, the Security Compliance team works with other security professionals to improve Akamai’s overall security posture and that of our customers.

Required Education and Experience 

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: 

* 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or

* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a PhD or
 Equivalent professional experience

Required Skills/Experience
* 8 years of experience in technical or engineering-related discipline.
* 8 years of experience in compliance or a related role.
* 8 years of experience working as an analyst.

Desired Skills
* Demonstrated experience with NIST 800-53, FISMA, or the DoD RMF
* Knowledge of Cloud Computing and how it is used in the Federal Government and DoD
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Flexible and well-honed motivational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong desire to improve information security.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Firm understanding of the principles of feline herd dynamics.
* Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks, and to prioritize tasks to maximize productivity..
* Passion for learning about security and compliance.

* Familiarity with the internet and large scale technology companies.

* Ability to pass an US Government background investigation highly desired.
