Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* Relevant experience and a PhD

Required Skills
* 5+ years of experience developing or testing network software applications
* 5+ years of experience developing automation in one or more of the following languages: Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell Scripting, Java
* 5+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with internet/security protocols, e.g. TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL, TLS, IPSec
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills
* Experience with Ruby on Rails or web application testing suites (Minitest, Rspec, Cucumber, Selenium, etc.)
* Experience with DevOps, automation, and continuous build/integration/deployment systems (Jenkins, Ansible, or similar)
* Experience with software repositories (Git) and issue tracking tools (Jira) on an Agile (Scrum, Kanban) team
* Domain knowledge in the areas of web server (apache / tomcat), proxy server, and browser technologies
* Familiarity with Internet security, firewalls, and encryption technologies
* Release Engineering experience, ideally for web applications
* Ability to perform and troubleshoot software installation tasks in a Linux server environment
* Experience with testing very large scale, distributed systems
* Willingness and flexibility to switch between multiple high priority assignments
* Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
* Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail
* Experience working with a distributed team
