Senior Software Engineer
Required Education and Skills:
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a Master's degree
Required Skills:
* 5+ years experience with the complete SDLC, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, unit testing, code reviews, and release.
* 5+ years of web application and services development experience in the following areas:
- Java and Java Enterprise Edition
- Web services such as REST
* 3+ years experience with Oracle and Database Schema Design
* 1+ years experience working in Enterprise environments/technology
* 1+ years experience with design and development for mission critical, high-availability systems.
Desired Skills:
* Docker/LXC experience
* Proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
* Python, Perl, or bash scripting
* Linux/Unix environments
* Experience with Java Web frameworks such as Spring, SpringMVC and Jersey.
* A clear understanding of Source Code Management Systems.
* Knowledge or experience with both SQL and no-SQL database systems.
* Experience with common Internet protocols (IP, TCP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, DNS)
* Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Understand the challenges of packaging products and managing dependencies for enterprise software development.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
* Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum and ability to operate within short release cycles.
* Self-starter who is able to work closely with team members and customers.
* Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as EC2, OpenStack, Azure.
