MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline plus 5 years of C programming experience within the Linux kernel.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have: Extensive experience with concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms; expert level understanding of Linux operating system and computer system architectures; solid knowledge of Linux kernel debugging and performance analysis; understanding of multiple kernel subsystems (networking, block, mm, fs, scheduler, etc.); proficiency with network protocols, including IP, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP; and proficiency in Unix shell scripting, or Perl, or Python. (Please note Akamai is seeking the stated ability in the above skills but no specific amount or years of experience in these skills is required.)
