Senior Software Engineer II

Required Skills:

* 5+ years experience with network and data analytics.

* 5+ years experience working in a Linux/UNIX environment, preferably with an emphasis on distributed systems, web applications, and/or security.

* 3+ years experience with at least one of the following: Perl, Python, Java, C/C++, or Shell scripting.

* 1+ years experience with commercial cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.

* 1+ years experience with identity management and/or access control technologies, preferably in a distributed or cloud computing environment.

Desired Skills:

* Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

* 3+ years of experience in web infrastructure and existing web practices, including knowledge of the HTTP protocol and TLS.

* Eligible to obtain a security clearance

* Working knowledge of network protocols and web-related technologies (DNS, TCP/IP, etc.)

* Experience with database systems and complex SQL statements.

* Experience with web application firewall and security threats, challenges, and vulnerabilities.

* Familiarity with Single Sign-On technologies, such as Shibboleth, ADFS, and CA Siteminder.

* Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Spark ML, TensorFlow, or similar utilities.

* Experience with any of the elements that typify a big data/analytics ecosystem, such as Apache Hadoop, * Elasticsearch, Hive, Kafka, Logstash, Apache Spark, Neo4j, Kibana, Grafana, Greylog, Fluentd, Nagios, or others.

* Experience with cloud storage or data warehousing technologies, such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Amazon RedShift, or Azure Cosmos DB.

* Basic understanding of distributed computing principles, including fault tolerance and recovery, parallel execution of tasks, and stream/batch processing.

* Ability to communicate complex information to non-specialist audiences using graphs or other visualization tools.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to effectively collaborate and engage others.
