Senior Software Engineer in Test - Media

Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or
* 6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* 3 years of relevant experience and a PhD

Required Skills
* 8+ years experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Perl
* 8+ years experience developing test scripts and test automation.
* 8+ years experience in a UNIX/Linux environment.
* 4+ years experience with networking protocols.
* 4+ years experience with data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging tools to characterize performance, reliability, scalability and capacity of large scale distributed systems
* 2+ years familiarity with data visualization and monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana
* 2+ years familiarity with open source databases like Prometheus, Influx DB and Graphite.

Desired Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Experience with any of the following programming languages: Java, Perl, Python, Javascript, C/C++, etc.
* Domain knowledge in the area of Web server (apache/IIS), proxy server, and caching technology strongly desired.
* Familiarity with Media Content Delivery such as QuickTime Server, Windows Media Streaming Server, Flash Media Server, and Silverlight is strongly desired.
* Familiarity with streaming codecs and containers is strongly desired.
* Experience in content creation using custom/stock encoders is a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
* Good understanding of Agile Methodology.
