Security Engineering is a dynamic department within our Infrastructure Security business group that defines, develops, and sells Akamai's Infrastructure Security products. Our team works with groups across Akamai as well as many external customers/partners. Our division consists of business development, engineering, product management and support personnel

As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Developing backend solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Designing, developing and maintaining tools for load testing, benchmarking, and system optimization of our Infrastructure Security products
• Building and enhancing testing automation frameworks and overseeing Test cases coverage for software components
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement testing strategies that ensure high-quality product delivery
• Monitoring and optimizing system performance to improve test coverage and detection accuracy

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 5+ years of experience with a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Be comfortable and proficient in Python and good to have Golang
• Demonstrate expertise in developing tools for load testing, benchmarking, and performance evaluation
• Have hands-on experience with testing automation frameworks like Pytest and Locust
• Possess an understanding of Kubernetes, with experience managing on-premises deployments for fault tolerance and scalability
• Be highly skilled in working with Linux systems, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting for system automation
• Be comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix-like environment
