We design, implement, and manage robust, scalable and highly available systems and applications in a Cloud Native Akamai platform. We do this while maintaining Akamai's Infrastructure Security to make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

As a Site Reliability Engineer II, You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive best practices in reliability, observability, and automation to ensure top-tier performance and uptime. You'll create tools to automate the deployment, monitoring and management of the platform.

As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining high availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services while adhering to SLAs.
• Identifying and mitigate risks to system reliability using automation, monitoring, and innovative solutions.
• Collaborating with development teams to integrate reliability into the development lifecycle, providing tooling and frameworks to empower teams to deploy, manage, and maintain their own services independently.
• Fostering and promote DevOps principles, supporting teams to build scalable, reliable applications reducing reliance on centralized operational roles.
• Troubleshooting and resolve incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Optimizing system performance through metric analysis, capacity planning, and tuning.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have understanding of DevOps methodologies, with a focus on building and maintaining infrastructure to empower development teams to own their services.
• Have hands-on experience with observability tools and frameworks such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and other cloud-native monitoring solutions.
• Have familiarity with cloud-managed services and Terraform (e.g., Kubernetes, DBaaS).
• Possess deep knowledge of Linux internals and networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS and load balancing
