About the Job
We are seeking an outstanding Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to be part of the Luna Engineering team. You will be part of a scrum team and work closely with them to support good quality practices and build integration and system tests, both manual and automated. The goal is to ensure quality code releases that are highly resilient, scalable, and performing optimally on our state-of-the-art distributed infrastructure.

About the Team
Luna Control Center is Akamai’s integrated web interface into products, services, and platform. This is our customer’s doorway/connection to all things Akamai, allowing them to manage and monitor their Akamai products, interact with professional services and support staff, or integrate Akamai data into their environments.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with developers to create white/black box test cases while leveraging functional specifications, design documents and use cases.
• Provide reasonable estimates for verification of Change Requests.
• Automate test scripts that cover basic functional testing for a feature; demonstrate ability to harness automation framework written in Java; design automation code with efficiency and time in mind.
• Quantify test script performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Able to work with source control systems effectively.

Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or its equivalent

Required Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience programming in Java.
* 1+ years of experience UI automation or API automation.

Desired Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate effective programming skills and an understanding of programming and/or common scripting languages.
• Understand Object Oriented Programing, Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Understand Software Engineering principles and networking principles.
Familiar with basic performance test and benchmarking concepts
