Software Engineer II

Qualifications 

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: 

* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or its equivalent or 

* Relevant experience and a Master’s degree in computer science/engineering 

Required Skills 

* 2+ years of experience with 1 or more of the following languages— Python, Perl or C/C++ systems programming

* 1+ years of experience with SQL 

* 1+ years of experience developing on operational Linux/Unix platforms in a public or private cloud. 

* 1+ years of experience in IaaS adoption or private cloud.   

Desired Skills 

* Experience with Content Distribution Networks 

* Experience in IaaS adoption in a non-virtualized legacy environment 

* Data center utilization monitoring and COGs modeling 

* Linux host system hypervisors including KVM 

* LXC based frameworks 

* Kubernetes, Apache Mesos or similar container workload orchestration frameworks 

* Linux kernel development and/or performance tuning 

* Designing, implementing and deploying continuous build/deployment frameworks 

* Site reliability engineering and/or work related including service performance 

* Experience building scalable servers or distributed systems. 

* Proven track record of delivering large amounts of high quality, complex code. 

* Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision. 

* Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, results oriented environment. 

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
