Software Engineer II

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

* 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or

* Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD or

* Equivalent professional experience

Required Skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication skills

* At least 2 years experience with object-oriented and functional programming concepts

* At least 2 years experience with at least 2 programming languages and eager to learn others

* At least 2 years experience with command-line utilities such as bash, grep, ssh, etc.

* At least 2 years experience with version control systems such as svn, mercurial, git, etc. (we use git)

* A minimum of 2 years of experience implementing cloud-based architectures

* A minimum of 2 years working with distributed databases

* A minimum of 2 years of experience building SOAP and/or REST web services

* A minimum of 2 years of experience / hands on with enterprise-level SaaS software concepts including services-oriented architecture, high availability, scalability, maintainability, concurrency, and distributed computing

* Familiarity with software testing concepts including unit testing, functional testing, regression testing, continuous integration testing, and performance testing

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Skills

* Experience building mobile applications for iOS and Android

* Experience building scalable applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

* Experience using JIRA for issue tracking

* Experience with Agile software methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban

* Familiarity with the OpenID and OAuth specifications
