Software Engineer II
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or
* An advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills
* 2+ years of experience in server-side or UI development and/or QA engineering
* 2+ years of experience with Python, C/C++, or Java on Linux or a Unix based OS
* 2+ years of experience working with Internet protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and TLS/SSL
* 1+ years of experience building scalable systems in distributed environments
* 1+ year of experience with web technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, Representational State Transfer (REST) and JSON.
* Experience or interest in developing rich Javascript web applications and reusable UI components.
Desired Skills
* Education: Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with a focus on networking, distributed systems, system architecture, etc. Or Equivalent professional experience.
* Proven track record of delivering large amounts of high quality, complex code
* Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision.
* Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
* Experience with API design.
* Experience working with Internet protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS.
* Experience with SQL is preferred; familiarity with NoSQL database systems is a plus.
* Familiarity with Perl and Linux shell scripts is also a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Experience with databases and SQL
