Overview


We are looking for an Analyst I to join the Supply Chain team at Akamai. In this role, you will work closely with Manufacturers, 3PLs, Carriers, Repair Vendors, and other Akamai Network members to support our Supply Chain Organization.

As an Analyst I, you will be responsible for:


*Managing daily operations and performance for one or more Supply Chain service providers.
*Negotiating with multiple vendors securing optimal pricing and favorable terms.
*Taking lead in database maintenance for accurate product classification under EAR, ECCN, FDA, HTS, Schedule B, and the like.
*Sustaining process for the cost effective, efficient, timely and accurate order fulfilment for the Service Management team.
*Developing and maintaining technical understanding of products used in Akamai’s deployed network.
*Liaising with internal groups to develop procedures to ensure accuracy of information in database.
*Demonstrating initiative, learning quickly from senior staff and collaborating fully as a member of Supply Chain.
*Performing commodity analytics to make informed supply chain decisions; interpreting the results of data analysis and communicating findings in a manner that is actionable
*Scheduling and revising order plans to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy internal and external customers.
*Ensuring all international trade compliance records are maintained as required.
*Assisting in the conduct of compliance audits, import/export control determinations, and preparation of export compliance training.
*Displaying a strong sense of urgency in researching, tracking and correcting operation problems, working directly with vendors to resolve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
*Collaborating with Akamai Legal and Compliance to address all areas of legal regulatory compliance applicable to Supply Chain and Logistics activities.
*Comparing freight quotes from multi carriers, factoring all miscellaneous charges before making final recommendation.
*Updating internal WIKI with any and all process changes impacting region and vendors.
*Identifying opportunities to improve, and design improvements to supply chain standards and compliance practices.
*Mentoring and training Supply Chain associate analysts as needed.

About the Team

Supply Chain Group is part of the Productivity group. We work with the Network Account Management. Network Partner Services, Service Management and Infrastructure Operations teams providing support so they can deploy and maintain the Akamai Network. Our primary responsibilities are encapsulated in the management of Akamai’s network equipment from birth to death. This includes, but is not limited to, import/export, procurement, warehousing, distribution, certification, customs regulations compliance, shipping, transportation, advance exchange, repairs, and asset end of life.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience


Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

*Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
*4-5 years related experience within the global distribution, and Supply Chain Management industry
*Experience with international shipping and required documents.
*Intimate knowledge of transportation industry carriers, 3PLS, and their services.

Required Skills

*Familiar with Advance Exchange Programs – parts replacement and repairs.
*Excellent problem solving skills.
*Ability to perform highly detailed work.
*Strong MS Excel experience.
*Familiarity with WMS platforms, ie SAP - Exposure to Siebel Sales a plus.

Desired Skills

*Strong analytical skills, financial and operational.
*Exceptional communications skills, written, verbal, and diplomatic.
*Solid forecasting and procurement experience.
*Proven vendor management experience.
*Excellent project management experience.
*Full understanding of international incoterms
*VBA, SQL, and database report-writing skills
*Familiar with Advance Exchange Programs – parts replacement and repairs
