About the Job 
The Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Web Performance business will be responsible for developing the vision, strategy, and execution plans that will significantly enable business growth. Our Web Performance business is approximately 850M in annual revenue. This person will lead a global organization of approximately 300 people with teams across engineering, product management, and business development and will be a key member and contributor on the Web Division Executive management team as well as Akamai’s Operating Committee. In addition to full product responsibilities, this leadership role is responsible for developing a culture of innovation, inclusion and experimentation.
This role has significant customer contact for both understanding and resolving current product issues as well as understanding future product requirements. 

About the Team
The Web Division is responsible for the creation and sale of Akamai services aimed at providing instant and secure access to all websites and applications for users everywhere, on all devices, and across all networks. The goal of the Web Performance business is to ensure dynamic websites and applications have instant response times. Some of the core products in this portfolio include mobile & web performance, API and image management.

Responsibilities 
• Lead, develop, and execute product roadmaps and product solutions to ensure business results and the desired market leadership position are achieved annually.
• Ensure superior product management direction and execution, set product priorities and develop the systems, processes, and disciplines necessary to ensure world-class products are delivered to their specific markets with the right features, positioning, pricing, and promotion.
• Work collaboratively with the Akamai Platform group to ensure products and solutions are fully integrated and are supported through the Company’s platform and control centers.
• Contribute, influence, and articulate key components that comprise the Company’s three-year strategic plan, especially around building and sustaining revenue growth opportunities for the business.
• Build and develop a sustainable and high performance organization that performs and executes for today and that can scale for tomorrow’s needs. Ensures that there is a robust and diverse set of talent in the pipeline and that the next generation of leaders are developed.
• Cultivates innovation through fostering an entrepreneurial spirit that encourages discussion and experimentation along new avenues while having the right balance of discipline to keep current priorities highly visible and on a path toward success.
• Develop and build strong external alliances and partnerships that create significant customer value propositions and integrate product development and solutions with go to- market strategies.
• Develop and nurture key executive level relationships with existing customers, vendors, and partners to leverage a complex and dynamic eco-system related to the business.
• Drive business development efforts to enable future growth opportunities.
• Lead product and solutions quality efforts on a global basis, enabling the Company to foster business relationships that are among the best in the industry. Maintain a high level of “customer stickiness” coincident with a recurring revenue business model.
• Collaborate with other members of the Akamai executive team to ensure that the “voice of the customer” is reflected in product, solutions, and operational and financial decision- making processes.
• Play a hands-on, collaborative role with peers and stakeholders across the organization
• Actively participate in the evaluation, diligence and strategic thinking around acquired technologies or partnerships.
• Ensure a robust, scalable, and repeatable product development process is applied to the business and cultivate through the culture by exhibiting personal leadership and active participation in product and technical reviews.
• Evangelize and embed a rigorous product development measurement approach that is metrics based and enable the organization to grow and scale for the future. Implement repeatable processes, systems, and best practices that are required to ensure improved operations and increased customer acquisition, customer retention, and customer satisfaction.
• Champion an infrastructure and systems need that supports customer and revenue growth, and scales the business for future growth. 

Required Education and Experience 
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
• 15+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science) or its equivalent
• 12+ years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree

Additional Skills Required
• Successful track record of leading, growing, and managing a business within a technology/enterprise software company with prior P&L responsibility.
• 10+ years of experience leading teams. Experience attracting, hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing teams and individuals. A leader that is known for building organizational capability through diverse and deep talent pipelines. A motivating executive capable of instilling excitement and inspiring others.
• Strategic agility, ability to “see around corners” to anticipate future trends and new market transitions, as well as incorporate customer feedback that enables long-term business success.
• Operational capability with a demonstrated track record of implementing enhanced business and product management processes that shorten release cycles and improve “time to market” for new products. A champion of world-class operations standards and approaches. Is good at figuring out what to measure to track progress; sets up systems that can almost manage themselves; always looking for incremental process improvement.
• A driver around the use of data to solve problems and make decisions. uses multiple problem-solving tools and techniques to solve the toughest and most complex of problems.
• Strong planning, financial, and analytical skills; proven ability to apply these skills with deft business acumen to complex situations with competing priorities.
• Possesses outstanding organizational and leadership skills: strong communication skills, interacts and is highly respected by employees at all levels, and treats others with respect.
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills who can credibly communicate with and relate to people at all levels in the organization. A track record of building successful, strong relationships. A leader who has successfully influenced stakeholders to achieve results.
• Experience interacting, presenting to, and influencing Board- level executives.
• Results driven, can manage multiple tasks and make sound decisions quickly. Has a healthy dissatisfaction with the status quo and a strong bias for action.
• Possesses a growth mindset, ability to effectively lead an organization to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.
• High degree of integrity, operates with the highest personal, professional, and ethical standards.
• Prior international experience
• Strong technical acumen, prefer prior experience in an Engineering or Product leadership roles.
• Industry experience in software or technology in both a large multi-billion company as well as in a higher growth, mid-cap company is preferred.
