Akamai's Infrastructure Services team manages and supports Corporate IT infrastructure for internal business functions. In this role, you will manage daily operations of Data Protection and Network Storage within Corporate IT. You will also collaborate with technical teams and business functions to deliver IT solutions efficiently.

Akamai's Infrastructure Services team is seeking a Unix System Administrator II. The role involves providing operational support for Data Protection and Network Storage Infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering IT support services efficiently.

As a Systems Administrator II UNIX, you will be responsible for:

• On-going administration support and management of the Cohesity platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring).
• Managing NetApp storage environment through OnCommand Unified Manager.
• Using system resource utilization and monitoring tools like GAP (Grafana, Alert manager & Prometheus) to identify potential problem areas before they result in incidents.
• Assisting in change management of Data Protection and Storage platform for new version upgrades, hotfixes, and sysadmin tasks.
• Automating routine administrative tasks and procedures using Shell Scripting, Perl, or Ansible.
• Handling major and critical incidents for problem resolution and work through root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Collaborating with engineering teams for project implementation.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelor's degree in computer science.
• Have 6+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Management and Service Delivery.
• Have 5+ years of hands-on experience in data protection technology (Cohesity) and Linux administration.
• Have 2+ years of experience with network storage, virtual environments, and clustering technologies.
• Have advanced knowledge of TCP/IP routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and high-availability networking.
• Have good communication and documentation skills. Certifications in Data Protection and Linux administration.
