About the Team

The Global Field Enablement Team focuses on enabling Akamai’s Sales & Services teams to deliver an excellent customer experience through simple, innovative and impactful learning experiences that drive business results. Our educational offerings on sales skills, product, competition, market landscapes and certifications will help elevate the GTM organization to the next generation of value selling and consulting experts.  


Key activities of the team include but are not limited to:


  • Owning and driving the technical enablement strategy aligned with the Web Performance Product Business Unit.
  • Architecting effective technical learning solutions designed to increase knowledge and capabilities of the field resources, including Sales, Presales, Global Services & Support and Partner organizations.
  • Skillfully leveraging entire spectrum of the modern learning ecosystem (i.e. e-learnings, labs, certifications, demos, apps, tools, virtual classrooms, job-aids, etc…) to drive maximum performance and business impact.
  • Aligning with the various cross-functional stakeholder organizations, including Product Marketing, Technical Enablement Strategists, Service Enablement and functional Managers.
  • Showing high standards of technical leadership by actively contributing and driving technical learning innovation.
  • Being a technical evangelist and thought leader to the field for the key strategic initiatives.
  • Directing and leading the community of the field Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in developing quality technical enablement content.
  • Overseeing and maintaining all technical training & enablement repositories.
  • Using metrics to track organizational performance and impact.



Responsibilities


The Technical Enablement Architect (TEA) is a technology leader who will develop technical learning solutions for our Sales, Presales, Global Services, and Partner organizations. The TEA is a proven technology leader that will be architecting scalable enablement solutions such as e-learnings, labs, demos, apps and virtual classrooms that will benefit internal resources, customers and partners. The TEA will show high standards of leadership – provide subject-matter-expertise within a specific Product Business Unit. The TEA is self-directed, capable of leading technical conversations and ability to assume subject matter expert responsibilities within a product line along with a strong understanding of how to develop and deliver scalable solutions. As a Technical Enablement Architect, you will be responsible for:


  • Owning the technical enablement strategy for a Product Business Unit (i.e. Web & Cloud Security).
  • Building effective technical learning solutions designed to increase knowledge and capabilities of the field resources.
  • Aligning with the various cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Showing high standards of technical leadership and innovation.
  • Being a technical evangelist and field thought leader.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications


  • Possess 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall experience in IT industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical pre-sales/sales engineering, consulting, and/or other customer facing role consulting on, delivering technical products or services.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web architecture and design.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in REST API, API Credentials, CLI (Command Line Interface), DevOps open sources and tools (CI/CD pipeline, Jenkins, GitHub).


Desired Qualifications


  • Experience with Content Delivery Networks, Web Performance, Cloud Security or Media solutions.
  • Experience with modern technical learning tools, concepts and frameworks.
  • Self-Starter and interpersonal skills, such as time management, team leadership and managing conflict.
  • Experience with professional development – presentation skills, pitching technical solutions, technical negotiation and consultant skills.
  • Proven track record of strong technical solutions selling and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate the capabilities and value of the products.
