Akamai Technical Support are a dynamic and social team who take responsibility for delivering the best customer experience to strategic customer accounts across EMEA. Working collaboratively on complex platforms to mitigate issues as quickly as possible, we thrive on solving problems and learning from each other.

This is a highly strategic role in which you will be the first point of contact for the customer, solving complex technical issues. Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to find the best solutions, you will also proactively review and mitigate risks, minimising potential disruption for our clients.  

As a Technical Support Engineer you will be responsible for:  

• Working independently with the customers to solve technical problems;

• Acting as a technical account manager to our strategic customers, to proactively analyse and solve technical issues;

• Working closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate problem resolution; 

• Managing technical support of special high-profile E-Commerce, B2B/B2C, global media clients events, OTT and major broadcasters.   

Do what you love  

To be successful in this role you will:   

• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and collaborate with internal stakeholders;
• Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the internet and IP networks, DNS and routing as well as communication protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, RTMP or UDP;
• Some knowledge of either Web Servers (Apache, IIS, nginx) and/or Web Services (XML, API, REST, DevOps);
• An interest or knowledge of Unix/Linux command line;
• Nice to have knowledge of one or more web programming languages (Java, Python, Shell scripting);
• Fluency in English and German languages.
