Basic Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or
* 12 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
* 10 years of relevant experience and a PhD


Additional Skills Required

·       15+ years of experience leading procurement and strategic sourcing teams.

·       Extensive experience managing a procurement portfolio across various categories.

·       Prior experience leading a successful procurement transformation that achieved best in class performance.

·       Experience building and leading globally dispersed teams across multiple categories including various indirect spends with a clear focus on supplier innovation to identify new sources of goods and services.

·       Proven history of consistently delivering annual savings results.

·       World Class negotiation skills with ability to close complex, multi-million dollar deals.

·       The ideal candidate will have strong global knowledge with ability to respond to global changes in the marketplace. Knowledge of both price and consumptions savings levers and risk management will be expected.

·       Strategic agility, visionary leader who can also roll up their sleeves and dig deep into the details. Ability to understand complex sourcing, proactively plan for new industry trends, and implement game-changing initiatives which differentiate Akamai. Can translate strategies into actionable plans.

·       Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives. Can quickly separate the mission-critical from the nice to dos. Must demonstrate characteristics of tenacity, self-confidence and the proven ability to continually grow and contribute to a global business.

·       Strong planning, operational and analytical skills. A true champion of world-class operations standards and approaches. Is good at figuring out what to measure to track progress; sets up systems that can almost manage themselves; always looking for incremental process improvement.

·       A driver around the use of data to solve problems and make decisions. uses multiple problem-solving tools and techniques to solve the toughest and most complex of problems.

·       Ability to lead successfully through change, knowledge of change management methodologies and tools.

·       Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment. Energized by tough challenges, adaptable and resilient.

·       A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills who can credibly communicate with and relate to people at all levels in the organization. A track record of building successful, strong relationships. A leader who has successfully influenced multiple stakeholders to achieve results.

·       Experience attracting, hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing teams and individuals. A leader that is known for building organizational capability through diverse and deep talent pipelines. A motivating executive capable of instilling excitement and inspiring others.

·       Highly dedicated, purposeful with a commitment to the highest standards of performance within time and budget constraints.

·       High degree of integrity

·       Experience working with a multitude of information technology systems including the development and execution of new systems and processes.

·       Experience interacting and presenting to internal and external executives. Exceptionally strong communication skills are required.

·       Prior experience working in the technology space is preferred.
