Applicants must
meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
* 15 years of relevant experience and a
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or
* 12 years of relevant experience and a Master’s
degree or
* 10 years of relevant experience and a PhD
Additional Skills Required
· 15+
years of experience leading procurement and strategic sourcing teams.
· Extensive experience managing a procurement portfolio across
various categories.
· Prior
experience leading a successful procurement transformation that achieved best
in class performance.
· Experience
building and leading globally dispersed teams across multiple categories
including various indirect spends with a clear focus on supplier innovation to
identify new sources of goods and services.
· Proven history of consistently delivering annual savings results.
· World Class negotiation skills with ability to close complex,
multi-million dollar deals.
· The
ideal candidate will have strong global knowledge with ability to respond to
global changes in the marketplace. Knowledge of both price and consumptions
savings levers and risk management will be expected.
· Strategic agility, visionary leader who can also roll up their
sleeves and dig deep into the details. Ability to understand complex sourcing,
proactively plan for new industry trends, and implement game-changing
initiatives which differentiate Akamai. Can translate strategies into
actionable plans.
· Results
oriented with the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives. Can
quickly separate the mission-critical from the nice to dos. Must demonstrate
characteristics of tenacity, self-confidence and the proven ability to
continually grow and contribute to a global business.
