Akamai’s Major Account Executive is a field-sales role responsible for managing and selling into mid-market accounts. Given the importance of navigating through these accounts, these individuals will be assigned to a select number of existing clients with the purpose of strengthening and expanding relationships along with finding, qualifying and closing new opportunities. We are looking for inquisitive, experienced sales executives who take the initiative and foster long term, healthy customer relationships.

Responsibilities Include
* Deliver against a revenue and incremental booking target through cross sell and upsell of Akamai’s extensive product portfolio.
* Reporting to a designated Regional Sales Manager/ Director.
* Ownership of key business relationships within a set of existing Akamai customers and being a strong customer advocate within Akamai.
* Expert understanding of customer’s business, industry and challenges.
Leverage marketing resources to generate new opportunities within account base, in addition to self-generated pipeline.
Demonstrate sales forecasting excellence via Salesforce CRM and maintain all data points needed to showcase a comprehensive sales plan.
* Lead an extended Akamai account team to conduct effective Customer Business Reviews and internal territory planning.
* Articulate Akamai’s value proposition to C-Level executives and corporate decision makers.
* Orchestrate and drive contract/ renewal negotiations to ensure customer satisfaction and adoption of Akamai technology.
* Collaborate with sales engineers to ensure consultative engagement with customers.

The Major Account Executive will be part of the Americas Gaming Region reporting into the Regional Sales Manager.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree
* At minimum 5+ years in a customer facing sales role.

Required Skills:
* At least 3+ years of solutions Sales experience in the Gaming industry
* Travel Required: at minimum 30% travel

Desired Skills:
* Proven track record in exceeding quarterly and annual quotas through direct/ indirect field sales.
* Knowledge of the video games industry a plus, including but not limited to games-as-a-service, account security and fraud, game release cycles.
* Knowledge of the basic concepts of Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
* Strong knowledge of Internet and telecommunications concepts and demonstrate the ability to discuss them with intelligence and conviction.
* Experience in successfully executing complex sales cycles with CXOs.
* Formal sales training a must: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred.
* Strong background in Internet infrastructure and/or enterprise solution software.
* Must have high ethics, integrity, competitive spirit and personal drive.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and relationship building skills.
