Our Product Architecture team owns the design strategy for Akamai's Compute products. We partner with product and engineering teams to ensure our strategy aligns with the needs of our customers. We are the driving force behind enabling developers and enterprises to build their next generation compute applications on Akamai.

Become Akamai's next Product Architect

As a Product Architect you will drive innovative solutions for our rapidly growing Compute products. You will help shape the next generation of our compute products such as VMs, Managed Containers and GPU offerings.

As a Product Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Designing robust, scalable, and secure enterprise grade cloud products and features
• Solving technical problems for our Compute products, working with Product Management, Engineering and Operations leadership teams
• Supporting the full product life cycle - ideation, implementation, operation
• Collaborating with the team in solving for complex problems like workload placement, fraud detection, security and isolation.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years development/architecture experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• Have proven experience as a Cloud Architect, with focus on designing cloud based projects
• Have programming (e.g,. Perl, Python, JS) skills to help prototype new product ideas and concepts
• Have knowledge and experience with hypervisors such as KVM and QEMU and familiarity with VM performance technologies.
• Have experience in key cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and containerization.
• Have familiarity with security concepts such as Data encryption, IAM, cloud firewalls etc.
